Manuele Therapie Amsterdam

Get rid of your complaints faster and for good

At Smith Physiotherapy, we don’t believe in standard exercise programmes. That’s why we always start with a personal analysis of your complaint. Based on that, we create a tailored treatment plan combining hands-on techniques (such as manual therapy, dry needling or deep tissue massage) with targeted exercises.

This way, we address not only your symptoms, but also the root cause. For faster and lasting recovery.

The Richard Smith Method

Our unique approach combines traditional physiotherapy with modern techniques such as dry needling

What does a manual therapist do?

The manual therapist focuses particularly on complaints affecting the spine and joints in the arms and legs. Manual therapy takes a broad view of how patients function and considers not only physical properties and functions, but also other factors that limit the patient. Based on a health profile, a treatment plan is drawn up.

Specific manual techniques are used to diagnose and treat disorders in joint function. The aim of these treatments is to improve joint mobility, so that joint function is restored and posture and body movement improve.

A major advantage of manual therapy is that you experience less pain and improved mobility immediately after treatment. This is due to the specific manual techniques that create additional movement freedom quickly and efficiently. These techniques are also known as manipulations or joint mobilisations.
